Our Sixth Decade Begins with Jorge Bolet

Classical music continued with Jorge Bolet, pianist, who began our sixth decade in 1961 with Franco Gulli, violinist, ending the decade in 1971.

Mr. Gulli became a distinguished professor of violin at the Indiana University School of Music. Students came from all over the world to study with this master teacher and professional performing artist.

Cincinnati is proud of the many outstanding musicians who got their start and our professional support on the Matinee Musicale stage.

In this ten year period of our history we are very pleased to have presented Itzhak Perlman, violinist, Pinchas Zukerman, violist, among other instrumentalists, vocalists, and pianists who later became world renown artists.

* Until 1928, first Cincinnati appearances were not noted ono recital programs; but it is likely that many of the artists presented in those early years were, in fact, Cincinnati debuts. All artists whose names are preceded by an "*" are verified first appearances.

If you like Bolet, Perlman, Deleone and Gulli, you'll love this decade's lineup!
