Our Growth Continued beginning with Elizabeth Schumann and ending with Vronsky and Babin

Elisabeth Schumann, who became one of the greatest sopranos and recording artists of the 20th century, and pianists Vronsky and Babin were among many esteemed vocalists, pianists, and instrumentalists we invited as our classical music performers in our third decade. In the last recital of the years between 1931 to 1941 the team of Vronsky and Babin was one of the most outstanding husband and wife piano duos of that time period.

During the decades of Matinee Musicale's presence in Cincinnati, classical music artists became among the most respected in the world. We are proud to have been one of the first organizations to give them their start.

Our Third Decade

* Until 1928, first Cincinnati appearances were not noted ono recital programs; but it is likely that many of the artists presented in those early years were, in fact, Cincinnati debuts. All artists whose names are preceded by an "*" are verified first appearances.
